What is a groutless shower?
A groutless shower uses a few large slabs on the walls instead of hundreds of small tiles.
A tiled shower has a grout line every few inches. Grout is porous. It holds water and soap, it stains, and it needs sealing to stay clean. It is also where mold usually starts. Why mold grows in the shower
Slab walls leave only a few seams where one slab meets the next. There is almost nothing to scrub, and the wall reads as one clean surface, like stone.
What is Dekton?
Dekton is a surface made by Cosentino from a mix of more than 20 minerals. Cosentino bonds the mineral particles into one dense slab with a process it calls TSP technology. In a few hours, it does what nature takes thousands of years to do.
The result is a slab that is non-porous and very resistant to scratches, stains and heat. It never needs sealing. Hot water, steam and shower products do not mark it.
Dekton has long been used in luxury homes and boutique hotels. It was hard to find in an everyday shower because it is fabricated like a countertop, not installed like tile.

Tile gives you the most choice, and we build plenty of tile showers. Acrylic is easy to clean, but it is still a plastic product, and it often goes over moisture-resistant board, not a waterproof wall. A Dekton slab gives you the easy cleaning of acrylic with the look of stone.
Sizes and fabrication
Dekton slabs come large, 102" x 39" and 59" x 126", so most shower walls go up in a few pieces. We measure your shower, then the slabs are cut to your walls off-site with the same kind of machinery used for countertops.

What goes behind the slab
A slab wall is only as good as the wall behind it. We take the shower down to the studs and waterproof the floor and walls with an advanced waterproofing system before any slab goes up. The slab is non-porous on its own, and the wall behind it is waterproof too.

A groutless shower is a shower remodel. Most take 4 days in your home, once the design is final and the slabs are cut.
